Merrissa Hughes, M.Ed., LPC-InternMerrissa, graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University and a M.Ed. in Counseling from Texas Southern University. Merrissa is a former educator with over 10 years of teaching experience. She enjoys working with a wide range of issues including: ADHD, over eating, body image issues, problems at school, career changes and social skills coaching.
Merrissa is a fully trained EMDR therapist. Her approach to counseling is multi- faceted utilizing client centered aspects and CBT. Merrissa seeks to work with clients to enable them to make positive changes in their lives. She enjoys working with children, teens, and women.
When Merrissa isn’t counseling she is planning activities for her family. She is wife and a mom of two active children. Merrissa is also a fan of the arts and loves singing and dancing. She is group fitness instructor and her favorite classes to teach are: Zumba, Pound and Pop Pilates. Merrissa enjoys traveling and her dream vacation is Italy.
